Clean Media is moving forward with our work on SSD raid systems. We are working with OCZ hardware to create what we hope is a system that can write more than 1500MB/s. We will be using MegaRAID ® SAS 9280-16i4e controllers with new OCZ Vertex 3 480GB SSD drives. We should be able to push the limit of the entire machine with this, it will be exciting to see how this pans out.
Clean Media is proud to announce that it has just signed a deal to begin creation of a powerful personal supercomputer for work with DNA and radiological cancer research. The project is set to commence in July 2011 and be completed before November 2011. The project is centered around an $85,000 computing core with custom CUDA programming from the UK. The system will be housed in a special temperature controlled room with specilaised backup systems in place.
A seperate add on project will begin in February 2012 when we begin building an SSD based enterprise level storage solution for the computational data to be recorded to rather than relying on conventional rotating disk. This will increase read and write times from mid 400MB/s to well over 1200MB/s meaning data can be accessed and written nearly 3 times faster than normal. We will be posting images as we go if permitted by the client.
